History of the Apollo Mission/NASA

Alan graduated fromKilgore High School in 1963 and Texas Tech University in 1967.  His career with NASA began after graduating form college.  He transitioned to Rockwell in 1986.  Alan supported Apollo missions and the space shuttle programs as flight controller before moving into management.  In 2010, after 43 years in the NASA Space program, Alan retired.  He has been an active member of the Rotary Club of Space Center for 40 plus years.  His passion in "Service to Others" is the Rotary Youth Exchange Program.  He is married to Gaye (a previous member of our Rotary club before transferring into Space Center Rotary).  He has five children and twelve grandchildren.  He is a member of University Baptist Church, enjoys singing in the choir, and enjoys the game of golf.
