Our monthly newsletter program is an interesting talk to make you think about the "sense of home".  As Rotarians,  most of us have an interest in traveling and making connections with Rotary programs with international connections.  We just enjoyed a Friendship Exchange with Lithuanians, we frequently enjoyed hosting exchange students, we have sought to promote and fund international service projects, and participate in ICC's (Intercountry Committees) with Ukraine, Mexico and France.  Individually, we have shared our love of travel via plane, boat or car.  People we meet often lead with "where are you from?"

Why you should listen
Novelist and nonfiction author Pico Iyer has written about everything from Islamic mysticism to the 21st-century world order. His 17 books (translated into 23 languages) include The Open RoadThe Art of Stillness and, most recently, Aflame: Learning from Silence, an exploration of the abiding clarity and calm to be found in quiet retreat. For the past 50 years, he has regularly spoken and traveled with the Dalai Lama — and has made more than 100 retreats at a Benedictine monastery in California.
